Who Are the Founders of Storj?

STORJ is an open-source project that started in 2014, and in 2017, ICO came into the market. The project STORJ started by the founder and CSO Shawn Wilkenson, Ohn Quinn (co-founder), executive chairman Ben Golub, CTO, principal architect Philip Hutchins, and 45 members in a team with various professional backgrounds.

What Makes Storj Unique?

There are three-point that makes STORJ 

token unique.

• Storage Node

• Uplinks

• Satellites

 

Storage Node: User has permission to rent out own disk space and get rewards in tokens and data.

Uplinks: Execute on the local network and upload files on the network. Uplinks are used to coordinate among peers to store and retrieve data.

Satellite: Responsible to keep storage nodes honest and manage to distribute network payment. Correspondent traffic between the uplinks and storage nodes. Every user account on a satellite.

The process of Segments and Stripes

While once uplink of the user receives permission to store the data on the satellite network, the processing will start on the file called segmenting.

 

During this process, files started encrypted, shared, compressed, and split into various segments and stripes. This process is usually a division of segments.

 

That file started distributed and shared in all networks. Now, the user can access the file by the private key. Users can encrypt that file and access it.

 

Most important, If the segment size is limited and the file will be stored on the satellite instead of on the storage node.

 

How Is the Storj Network Secured?

If we talk about an object, any object storage platform must guarantee the confidentiality and safety of the knowledge stored, whether centralized or decentralized. Distributed storage platforms need to reduce complexity and other risks associated with storing knowledge on inherently unreliable nodes.

How Many Storj Coins Are There in Circulation?

On August 13, 2018, the Storj market cap was $46 million. With the largest capitalization, Storj achieved the 123rd rank in the global market.

 

Here, the main point is: Storj minted 500 million STORJ tokens, but after the sale, almost 75 million tokens were burned. So, the circulation supply was 424,999,998(420 million-plus) tokens. Till August 2018, 135.7 million-plus tokens are in circulation.

The supply number is like 153.2M is in circulation, including 271.8M in non-circulating equals 425.0 Million.
